Michiganders Recognize Homelessness as a Serious Problem in Their Communities

An overwhelming majority of residents across the state believe homelessness could happen to anyone, and many want their communities to do more to help their struggling friends and neighbors, according to a new poll commissioned by Michigan’s Campaign to End Homelessness. The survey found that 80% of Michigan voters agreed that regardless of the state of the economy, homelessness or the risk of it can happen to anyone. Statewide, only 11% believe that homelessness is a lifestyle choice, while 71% disagree.
