State Housing Authority Announces MSHDA and Federal Grants to Help Homeless in Communities Around Michigan

April 09, 2009

Executive Director Keith Molin of the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) today announced funding to help Michigan’s homeless through its Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) Program –including Rural Homeless Initiative (RHI) Grants – for fiscal year 2009. The funds are being awarded to communities and local recipient organizations as part of an estimated $7.8 million in federal grants to be allocated this fiscal year across the state.

Governor Granholm Announces Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund Grants 18 Organizations Receive Funds from MSHDA for Developing Vibrant Cities, Towns and Villages

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that grants totaling $2,168,400 have been awarded to 18 nonprofit organizations through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) from the newly funded Michigan Housing and Community Development Fund (MHCDF). The grants support Gov. Granholm’s Vibrant Cities Initiative and will provide affordable housing opportunities while helping transform the Michigan economy by improving the quality of life in cities, towns and villages across the state.
